Grade Overview:
Grade 2 at SNS Academy builds upon the foundational skills established in Grade 1. Students deepen their understanding of core concepts while developing greater independence in learning. The Design Thinking framework becomes more integrated into daily learning, with students taking on more complex challenges and working collaboratively on extended projects.
What Students Will Learn
English Language: Reading and writing paragraphs with comprehension, using punctuation correctly, understanding parts of speech, and engaging in creative writing.
Mathematical Thinking: Numbers up to 1000, multiplication tables, division concepts, introduction to fractions, telling time, and solving word problems.
Environmental Science: Understanding our needs (food, shelter, clothing), safety rules, properties of air and water, and caring for the environment.
Art and Creativity: Landscape drawing, understanding basic color theory, creating collages, and expressing ideas through various art forms.
Physical Education: Team games, coordination exercises, and continued yoga practice for physical and mental well-being.

Teaching Methodology
Conceptual Understanding: Emphasis on understanding the “why” behind concepts, not just memorization.
Design Thinking Process: Students learn and apply all stages of Design Thinking – Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test – in their project work.
Integrated Learning: Subjects are connected through themes and projects, helping students see the interconnectedness of knowledge.
Student-Led Inquiry: Students are encouraged to ask questions, research topics of interest, and present their findings to peers.
Curriculum Highlights
Deepening Foundations: Multiplication tables, fractions, and paragraph writing are introduced with strong conceptual understanding.
Design Thinking Projects: Students undertake projects that address real needs in the classroom or school community.
SNS iHub Exploration: Hands-on exploration of simple machines and basic robotics kits that build mechanical thinking.
SPINE Center Activities: Regular swimming sessions, creative movement, and access to specialized sports coaching.
3P Culture Practice: Students take ownership of their purpose in learning, follow processes independently, and collaborate effectively in teams.
Co-Curricular Activities
Junior Scientists: Simple experiments and observations that develop scientific thinking.
Young Authors: Creative writing and storytelling workshops.
Chess Club: Introduction to chess fundamentals for strategic thinking.
Eco Club: Understanding recycling, saving water, and caring for plants.
Dance and Music: Continued exploration of vocal music and basic dance movements.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Requirement: Children must be 7 years old by the 31st of March in the academic year for which admission is sought.

My kid is studying in Grade III. I am happy to join my kid in SNS family. He joined for Grade 2 and initially I was scared how he could perform because he studied in a school were there few kids. Thanks to SNS family and now my son has grew up as a confident speaker. The school has provided him the many opportunities through competitions and good motivation from management , staffs and even co workers. I am very happy and glad that I choose correct platform. He participated in ALL ROUNDER PERFOEMER ( ARP) award competition for the first time in his grade 2, n he got award from technical director Nalin sir.I am very happy and which motivated him to join again in Grade 3 , he got through two rounds.The second round as poster presentation gave a better platform to improve presentation skills, my kid spoke very confidently. Real school which is giving opportunity to students in their career growth. Students are getting more smarter and stuffed in early as stage. Their 5 pillars related activities and training to shape up the students is really appericiable one. Keep up your good thing you are doing. One suggestion is that students acedamic perspective also we need more focus as we feel there’s not much priority given for this area and it also plays vital role in students higher careers.
